+La première difficulté a été l'installation. Avec le BIOS UEFI par défaut, l'OS Neon n'arrivait pas à installer Grub et plantait si l'accès à Internet était désactivé. Si l'accès à Internet était autorisé, l'installation fonctionnait, mais le démarrage plantait ! Une fois le « Legacy boot » (démarrage traditionnel) autorisé, Neon OS s'est installé et à démarré sans problème.

+Dans la configuration précédente, j'utilisais Thunderbird pour mes mails, Firefox comme navigateur et uTorrent pour le téléchargement. Ce coup-ci, j'ai essayé les applications par défaut de KDE : Kmail et Ktorrent, avec peu de succès. Kmail refusait d'envoyer des mails, même avec les mêmes paramètres que Thunderbird ; aussi, j'ai installé Thunderbird et résolu mes problèmes de mails. Les téléchargements avec Ktorrent étaient très lents ; aussi, j'ai installé µTorrent et j'ai retrouvé les téléchargements à pleine vitesse. Firefox utilisait un unique cœur du processeur à 100 % jusqu'à ce que je change le paramétrage pour du « multi-threading » (processus en parallèle). Depuis la v57, il semble que ce soit le réglage par défaut.

+L'appareil s'est arrêté plusieurs fois sans raison apparente, mais j'ai découvert que mon onduleur était en défaut et que les nombreuses chutes de tension en étaient la cause. En le remplaçant par un nouvel onduleur, je n'ai plus eu de coupure aléatoire.
+Comme je n'ai plus besoin d'installer/mettre à jour un logiciel anti-virus et des pilotes de dispositifs à n'en plus finir, l'usage de la RAM est plus faible et le système fonctionne bien. Le changement a du bon...
