-I fired it up and a helpful wizard helped me configure the basics. I created a new Workspace and ran through the five questions that you need to get your project off the ground. Just like Code::Blocks, it created a nice ‘hello world’ console app that I could use as a base. Just to test, I changed the default gnome-terminal to the built-in terminal. It required a restart, but nothing was lost. Building and running the project was a breeze. The “built-in terminal” is actually another floating terminal, so nothing lost or gained there. The only plus I could see was that the theming integrated well with the CodeLite terminal, but if you have configured your OS terminal the way you like it, I see no reason to switch. I would have liked it to be part of the bottom bar, but I can also see how this is useful.

Quand j’ai fait des recherches sur « problème codelite », pas mal de liens se sont affichés. Ce N’est PAS une MAUVAISE CHOSE (ils ont tous des problèmes). Cela montre qu’il y a des gens qui l’utilisent.
+Je l’ai lancé et un assistant serviable m’a aidé à configurer les bases. J’ai créé un nouvel Espace de travail et répondu aux cinq questions nécessaires avant de démarrer votre projet. Tout comme Code::Blocks, il a créé une appli console « hello world » sympa que je pouvais utiliser comme base. Pour le tester, j’ai remplacé le terminal gnome par défaut par le terminal intégré. Il fallait redémarrer, mais rien n’était perdu. Créer et faire tourner le projet était un jeu d’enfant. Le « terminal intégré » est en fait un autre terminal flottant, ainsi rien de gagné ni de perdu dans ce domaine. Le seul plus que je voyais était que le thème s’intégrait bien avec le terminal CodeLite, mais si vous avez configuré le terminal de votre système d’exploitation comme vous le voulez, je ne vois aucune raison pour changer. J’aurais voulu qu’il fasse partie de la barre du bas, mais je peux également voir que c’est utile comme tel.

+Permettez-moi de préciser ceci dès le départ : je ne suis en aucune façon un utilisateur avancé d’IDE ou un gourou du codage, mais, même pour quelqu’un avec mes faibles compétences, cet IDE était non seulement utile, mais facile à utiliser et doux pour mes yeux la nuit (et il n’est point gourmand en ressources !).

+La fenêtre de code est ordinaire, juste comme je l’aime, et des petits trucs, comme des fonctions de repli, sont faciles à voir. Aux endroits où la souris serait gênante, la direction de la souris change de 180 ° ! On dit que le diable est dans les détails et cet IDE fait très attention aux détails. (J’aurais aimé vous le montrer, mais pour une raison quelconque, si j’ajoute « inclure le pointeur » dans l’outil de capture d’écran, il fait pivoter le pointeur.) Un clic droit n’importe où dans l’application affichera le menu contextuel de cette partie précise. Il n’y a pas de menu « global » du clic droit et il faut en être conscient. Il est recommandé de cliquer dans différentes bandes et sections afin de vous familiariser avec ce qui est quoi. Les notifications s’affichent sous votre code et n'interfèrent pas avec votre travail.

This is important when you work on files on other mediums, as the projects on my flash drive now eclipse my projects on my local drive.  Overall, I cannot complain about anything in this free and open source IDE. I just wish I knew about it before I ran headlong into eclipse, which is so busy, it makes me tired just looking at it. I suspect the biggest issue with the application is that it does not have a ‘shoutbox’, hype or community blow up. Countless websites and FOSS pages sing praise to Atom code editor that is an electron application, but none praise this brave little IDE that “just works” and does not carry oodles of bloat around. According to HTOP, Codelite used less CPU and memory than my music player while I was using it. Only Sublime text and notepadqq were lighter on resources. Given, I write only small CLI programs on it, but it compiles pretty fast and I never feel like I am waiting for it.

+Maintenant pour ce que je n’ai pas aimé : je n’arrivais pas à voir un moyen simple de mettre ma liste de fichiers récents à zéro. Cela est important quand vous travaillez sur des fichiers sur d’autres media, car actuellement les projets sur ma clé USB éclipsent les projets sur mon disque local. Pour une raison ou une autre, ctrl+maj+flèche vers le haut/bas pour déplacer une ligne vers le haut ou vers le bas ne fonctionnait pas pour moi (mais cela peut être dû à ma définition des raccourcis claviers dans l’OS.)

J’aurais souhaité le connaître avant de me plonger dans eclipse, qui est si encombré que rien que le regarder me fatigue. Je soupçonne que le plus grand problème avec l’application est qu’il n’a ni boîte à discussion, ni buzz, ni publicité faite par la communauté. D’innombrables sites Web et pages FOSS chantent les louanges de l’éditeur de code Atom, qui est une application electron, mais aucun ne loue ce courageux petit IDE qui « fonctionne tout simplement » et n’a pas des tonnes de trucs inutiles. D’après HTOP, Codelite utilisait moins de CPU et mémoire que mon lecteur de musique pendant que je m’en servais. Seuls Sublime text et notepadqq utilisaient moins de ressources. Oui, c’est vrai, je n’écris dessus que des petits programmes en ligne de commande, mais il compile rapidement et je n’ai jamais l’impression de l’attendre.
