 Before considering this game, know that this game is squarely aimed at “Furries” and while it is not my bag baby, it may be yours!
-The main reason I am looking at it, is because it currently has a demo on Steam, where it is rated “Overwhelmingly positive”. I have not played any of the other games in the series, so I cannot compare it to them.

+Avant d’envisager de jouer à ce jeu, il faut savoir qu’il cible directement les « Furries » [Ndt : des personnes attirées par d’autres qui sont habillées en animal] et, alors que cela ne me tente pas du tout, vous êtes peut-être concerné !

 The main game loop reminds me of IXION, hold up, hear me out. You travel to a destination, and make a choice or choices that affect your stats, allowing you to move forward or not. The “side gig” in IXION was city building and resource management, and in this it is supposedly romance and resource management. IXION had a real-time feel and this has a visual novel feel.
-In Monster Prom Roadtrip, you have six resources you need to keep an eye on as you travel: Hype, Magic, Mind, Money, Soul, and Stamina. Events at every stop will raise and lower these resources based on the choices you make; your job is to keep them above zero to reach the end of the game.

+Monster Roadtrip est le troisième de la série des jeux Monster Prom. Cependant, celui-ci est différent de ce que je sais maintenant des jeux précédents : au lieu de jouer au travers des décisions pour accumuler des statistiques et impressionner des personnages précis pour lesquels vous avez un coup de cœur, vous traversez un désert pour atteindre la bonne Destination de votre « Roadtrip » !

+Le jeu est rempli à bloc de tout ce qu'il vous faut : il y a un accomplissement et des badges et des stickers et tutti quanti pour votre progression méta dans le jeu. Beaucoup d’efforts ont été déployés pour rendre le jeu amusant et, s’ils n’ont pas voulu faire avancer un agenda politique quelconque, il aurait pu être beaucoup plus amusant. Cela étant dit ce n’est pas un jeu pour les enfants, car il contient beaucoup de jurons et de thèmes adultes.
+Côté positif, il peut s’exécuter sur une machine lente (mais il vous faut une carte graphique et une machine virtuelle ne fera donc pas l’affaire). Je l’ai testé sur un portable Core2Duo avec une Radeon 300 et il fonctionne. Ainsi si votre machine a moins de 10 ans et assez de mémoire, il y a des chances que le jeu fonctionne bien. Ubuntu est prise en charge officiellement et il n’y a donc pas de problèmes de dépendances, etc., lors de l’installation.

La musique est structurée afin qu’elle ne donne pas l’impression de trop de répétition et ne vous énerve pas. (Il y a même une bande son alternative !)

It will have you smiling and grinning to completely sitting back laughing in no time. If you choose an easy difficulty, there is no way for you to fail deep dialogues, so go for crazy. The choices always seem to have a “good” and a “bad” choice, but the “good” choice may have “bad” choices within. The very first turn, you have a choice between a motel and a biker bar. The image of the motel looks run down, the biker bar is all shiny and hovering over each, the tooltips even feel positive and negative. However in the biker bar, you get into a fight, which I doubt would have happened in the motel. Do note, every encounter has the chance to drain one of your stats and raise another, so choose wisely. Though this is one of the core mechanics in the game, it is also the main flaw, as some choices affect one thing this time and another the next, making it feel like you are tied to a roll of the dice.

+Mais le charme de ce jeu ne réside pas dans les graphismes, qui sont vraiment très bien faits, mais dans l’écriture et les dialogues. L’humour est parfois complètement absurde et décalé. Il vous fera sourire, puis il vous fera rapidement vous adosser à votre chaise et vous marrer complètement. Si vous choisissez une difficulté facile, il n’y a pas moyen d’échapper aux dialogues détaillés, alors choisissez d'être fou. Les choix semblent toujours être entre un « bon » choix et un « mauvais » choix, mais le « bon » choix peut avoir des « mauvais » choix  à l’intérieur. Pendant votre tout premier tour, vous avez le choix entre un motel et un bar de motards. Le motel dans l’image a l’air d’être assez crad alors que le bar de motards est étincelant et, en passant votre souris au-dessus des deux, les info-bulles donnent l'impression d’être positives pour le bar et négatives pour le motel. Toutefois, dans le bar de motards, vous devez vous battre et je ne pense pas que la même chose serait arrivée dans le motel. Notez bien : chaque rencontre a la possibilité de faire baisser l’une de vos statistiques et d’augmenter une autre. Ainsi, il faut choisir judicieusement. Bien que ce soit l’un des mécanismes au cœur du jeu, c'est également son principal défaut, puisque certains choix affectent un truc cette fois-ci et un autre la prochaine fois, ce qui vous donne l’impression de dépendre de coups de dés.

+Il est globalement réfléchi, en fournissant des bandes son alternatives pour les « streamers » et en vous avertissant des trucs qui sont davantage pour les adultes. Si les problèmes imaginaires comme les pronoms, etc., vous enragent, j’éviterais ce jeu, mais si vous pouvez les oublier et les jurons aussi, vous pourriez peut-être vous amuser. Vaut-il les dix dollars ? Peut-être. Tout dépend de votre sens de l’humour.
