 I downloaded Lubuntu 24.10 via BitTorrent from the official source and then did a command line SHA256 sum check. I recommend everyone do this check with each ISO download, prior to booting it, just to make sure the file is valid and avoid any installation problems.

 I dropped the ISO file onto a USB stick equipped with Ventoy 1.0.99 and booted it up which worked perfectly, as expected, since Lubuntu is officially supported by Ventoy. On boot-up Ventoy does all the hard work of unpacking the files and making it all work.

+J’ai téléchargé Lubuntu 24.10 avec BitTorrent à partir de la source officielle et ensuite j’ai fait une vérification de somme SHA256 en ligne de commande. Je recommande que tout le monde fasse cette vérification avec chaque téléchargement d’une ISO, avant de la démarrer, pour s’assurer que le fichier est bon et éviter des problèmes éventuels d’installation.

+Comme dans les versions récentes, Lubuntu 24.10 n’est pas livrée avec un éditeur graphique d’images, un éditeur de vidéos, un client mail ou une application de webcam, bien qu’il y ait de bons choix pour ces logiciels dans les dépôts, accompagnés de beaucoup plus d’applications.

+Lubuntu 24.10 est une bonne publication solide avec tout simplement quelques petits changements par rapport à la 24.04 LTS, que la plupart des utilisateurs ne remarqueront probablement pas. Ce sera intéressant de suivre ce cycle de développement et de voir si Wayland est effectivement adopté bientôt par Lubuntu, ainsi que de cataloguer les autres changements qui peuvent apparaître le long du chemin.
