Q I've several files that can not be rsync. Progress of operation is done to 100% but once at 100% Kubuntu “17.04” returns me an input/output error (5).
I firstly check if HDD had some bad sectors with smartmontools and badblocks commands, but no bad sectors.
A (Thanks to sudodus in the Ubuntu Forums) You checked for bad blocks, but did you check and try to repair the file system?
Unmount the partition and:
sudo e2fsck -f /dev/sdxy
where x is the drive letter and y is the partition number.
Q My 14.04 root partition is 12 GB, and is now 95% full. How can I find and possibly remove excess “stuff” that may be filling up the root partition?
A You can delete the .deb files for all the updates you have installed over the years. Once installed, the .deb files serve no purpose.
sudo apt-get clean
Also, use Synaptic Package Manager to “completely remove” most of the old kernels, then run: sudo update-grub
Q I'm trying to install VMware Workstation 12.5.2 on Ubuntu 16.10. I ran a “sudo chmod +x VMware-Workstation-Full-12.5.2-4638234.x86_64.bundle” in my terminal, but I don't know where to go from here.

Q I want to get pictures from Canon EOS camera.
A As ajgreeny suggested, just use the file manager. Details depend on what version of Linux you are using, and perhaps which Canon camera you have.
Mark the files you want to copy, go to Pictures. and perhaps make and go to a folder such as 20161228, then paste the files into the folder.
