This is Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal, running on my 14“ laptop, with Intel Celeron CPU 550 @ 2.00GHz and 1GB of RAM. I disabled Nautilus showing mounted volumes on the desktop to provide a cleaner desktop. The wallpaper is Stripes, the default wallpaper of GNOME 3 (Hey, it looks good with Unity :D ). I use the Radiance theme, retouched with Faenza Icon Set. I took this screenshot some time ago, when I used Ubuntu 10.10. Now I'm using 11.04. In fact I like using Unity because it's simple, and satisfies what I need. I like my desktop simple, and no icons on the desktop. So I removed the top panel and used the bottom panel. On the bottom panel, I used the dockbarx applet and gnomenu instead of the default one. On the left side of the screen you can see the date. That's conky. I got the wallpaper from deviantart. J'ai fait cette capture d'écran il y a quelque temps, quand j'utilisais Ubuntu 10.10. Maintenant j'utilise la 11.04. En fait, j'aime utiliser Unity car c'est simple et cela satisfait à mes besoins.
J'aime mon bureau simple et sans icônes. Ainsi j'ai retiré le panneau du haut et j'utilise celui du bas. Sur celui du bas, j'ai utilisé l'appliquette dockbarx et gnomenu plutôt que le menu par défaut. A gauche de l'écran, vous pouvez voir la date. C'est Conky. J'ai eu le fond d'écran sur deviantart. This is my idea of a perfect desktop, something that’s neat, simple, and minimalistic. Not too many short-cuts on the unity launcher bar, but with a little coding of Unity Quicklist scripts, navigation becomes just as good as any other bulky Unity launcher bar. I like this style because it's suitable for serious work and looks good too. Voici comment je conçois le bureau parfait : quelque chose de soigné, simple et minimaliste. Pas trop de raccourcis sur la barre de lancement d'Unity, mais, avec un peu de programmation de scripts Quicklist d'Unity, la navigation devient tout aussi bonne que les autres barres de lancement encombrantes d'Unity. J'aime ce style car il est adapté au monde du travail et qu'en plus, il a une belle apparence.

I'm from Indonesia, and this is my first participation in FCM. I run Ubuntu 10.10 on an old low-end PC, P4 1.6 GHz, 512 SDRAM, 40 GB HDD, Nvidia Geforce2 TI, 15“ CRT monitor. All runs great here. I use Unity 2d with mac4lin theme and genoid icons. Compiz works in minimal settings since there's a warning on compizchecker. I put together 3 rcs into 1 conky. Ubuntu rocks. Hendraone

J'ai un vieux PC bas de gamme sous Ubuntu 10.10, avec un P4 1,6 GHz, 512 SDRAM, 40 Go DD, une Nvidia Geforce2 TI, un moniteur CRT 15”.
Tout y fonctionne très bien. J'utilise Unity 2d avec le thème mac4lin et les icônes genoid. Compiz tourne avec les paramètres au minimum, car il y a des avertissements dans compizchecker. J'ai rassemblé 3 rcs dans 1 conky.
