Greetings from Ecuador! I'm new to Linux. Just started last September with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) after Windows 7 crashed. I'm still learning the basics but honestly I can say I'm feeling satisfied. My laptop is much faster than before.

I run Ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop ASUS A42N. It uses LXDE and Metacity for window manager. Why did I choose Metacity? Because I think it has 'more colors' than the default LXDE's Openbox.

J'ai Ubuntu 12.04 sur mon portable ASUS A42N. J'utilise LXDE et Metacity pour le gestionnaire de fenêtres. Pourquoi ai-je choisi Metacity ? Parce que je pense qu'il a « plus de couleurs » que l'Openbox par défaut de LXDE. thème gtk : Ambiance. Metacity : Ambiance Squared. Icônes : Faenza.

I have been using Ubuntu since 7.04, and, apart from a brief spell with Bodhi (which I loved, but which required a little more maintenance than I like), have been an Ubuntu user all that time.
I have used the BUUF icon set almost as long. It is beautiful, and it makes Unity look a little less glib and a little more homely. I found the wallpaper on Deviant art, and have stuck with it even though it's designed for Lucid Lynx and I'm now on 12:10. I love the texture of it, and the Ubuntu circle has never looked more beautiful.
It's not flashy, but this is my desktop, and it feels like home.

J'utilise Ubuntu depuis 7.04, et, à part une brève période avec Bodhi (que j'ai adoré, mais qui a nécessité un peu trop d'entretien), j'ai toujours été un utilisateur Ubuntu. J' utilise l'icône BUUF depuis presque aussi longtemps. Elle est belle et elle donne à Unity l'air un peu moins désinvolte et un peu plus simple. J'ai trouvé le fond d'écran sur Deviant Art, et je l'ai bloqué, même s'il est conçu pour Lucid Lynx, et j'en suis maintenant à 12.10. J'aime la texture de celui-ci, et le cercle Ubuntu n'a jamais été plus beau. Il n'est pas flashy, mais c'est mon bureau, et il se sent comme à la maison.
