 First thing I did with LL was to load up the Task Manager (bottom right) to see what resources LL would use. Before removing Ubuntu, I ran its task manager (bottom left) to see what it was doing. You’ll see the images within this article, but, in short, the Ubuntu resources were showing CPU1 using 25% and CPU2 using 18% and using 1GB (out of 4GB) of RAM. LL shows it using CPU (overall) of 5% and 20% of RAM (so, same as Ubuntu, 1GB). So far so good!

+Premier démarrage
+La première chose que j’ai faite dans LL a été de charger le Gestionnaire de tâches (en bas à droite) pour voir les ressources utilisées par LL. Avant d’enlever Ubuntu, j’avais lancé son gestionnaire de tâches (en bas à gauche) pour voir ce qui s’y passait. Vous verrez les images dans cet article, mais, pour faire court, les ressources d’Ubuntu montraient que le CPU1 était utilisé à 25 % et le CPU2, à 18 % et que 1 Go (sur 4 Go) de RAM était utilisé. LL montre qu’elle utilise le CPU (global) à 5 % et 20 % de la RAM (donc, la même chose que Ubuntu, 1 Go). Jusqu’ici, tout va bien !

 Beside the Menu button are shortcuts to Firefox, Files, and Terminal. On the far right of the task bar are the virtual desktops, a quick link to check for updates/upgrades, networking, sound, and the time.

+Le bouton Menu révèle toutes les choses habituelles auxquelles vous vous attendriez, comme l’accès au dispositif et à toutes les applis installées. Et, avec deux façons d’accéder aux Paramètres : soit l’icône en bas qui ouvrira une fenêtre des Paramètres, soit via l’option Paramètres dans le bouton Menu, qui affiche tous les éléments qui sont disponibles à partir de la fenêtre Paramètres. Sympa pour un accès rapide à un élément précis dans les Paramètres.
+Des raccourcis vers Firefox, Files et Terminal se trouvent à côté du bouton Menu. À l’extrême droite de la barre des tâches, il y a les bureaux virtuels, un lien rapide pour vérifier les mises à jour/niveau, les réseaux, le son et l’heure.

I haven’t had a chance to really push it to its limits by running a load of stuff to see how it copes, but its fresh look and speedy desktop has definitely convinced me to keep it. +Quelle bonne surprise ! Je ne m’attendais à pas grand chose, mais Linux Lite m’a vraiment impressionné. Je n’ai pas encore eu le temps de la pousser à ses limites en lançant beaucoup de choses en même temps pour voir comment elle s’en sort, mais son apparence fraîche et son bureau réactif m’ont vraiment convaincu de la garder. Je vous en donnerai des nouvelles…
