La tablette a plus de 8 000 niveaux de pression, inclut l’inclinaison, et fait à peu près 30 x 23 cm, avec une zone de dessin d’environ 25 x 15.  The top of the tablet has a sliding switch. A flick of this turns the tablet on and the corners glow with colour. A nice touch! The ‘quick keys’ device also has a similar power switch.

+La tablette Xencelabs est livrée avec deux câbles USB et un dongle WiFi. Ainsi, vous pouvez choisir des fils (ce qui utilise deux ports USB) ou choisir le sans-fil avec la clé WiFi (utilise un port USB). J’ai choisi le sans-fil.
+En haut de la tablette, il y a un commutateur coulissant. Une légère pression dessus allume la tablette et les coins s’illuminent avec des couleurs. Très sympa ! La télécommande « quick keys » a un interrupteur similaire.

 Going to https://www.xencelabs.com/support/download-drivers/ gets a link to the Linux drivers. Download Linux driver (an archive file). Opening the archive shows three files; a DEB, an RPM and TAR files. I can speak for only the DEB file that I used in Ubuntu 21.10.

 The release notes link (below the download button) shows how to install/uninstall drivers from the command-line, but I did a right-click on the DEB file and chose ‘Open With Software Install’ to install the drivers.

+Sur https://www.xencelabs.com/support/download-drivers/, vous trouverez un lien vers les pilotes Linux. Téléchargez le pilote Linux (un fichier compressé). En ouvrant l’archive, vous verrez trois fichiers : un DEB, un RPM et un TAR. Je ferai référence uniquement au fichier DEB que j’ai utilisé dans Ubuntu 21.10.

 You set the label to be displayed and the keyboard shortcuts. The ‘customize’ dropdown lets you rotate the quick keys in 90’ increments, set the screen brightness, and so on.

+Puis il y a « Ma télécommande Quick Keys ». La télécommande est une petite boîte rectangulaire avec un petit écran, huit boutons et un cadran dans lequel il y a un bouton. L’idée, c’est que vous appuyez sur le bouton à l’intérieur du cadran pour basculer entre 4 modes. Le cadran a un contour coloré qui change avec chaque mode. Les huit touches peuvent être configurées exactement comme vous voulez. L’écran affiche la configuration actuelle de chaque bouton. Je crois que vous pouvez avoir plusieurs jeux de raccourcis, mais je ne les ai pas essayés. Huit me suffisaient amplement.

+Comme je l’ai mentionné plus tôt, j’utilise principalement MyPaint pour des illustrations numériques. C’est vrai, je pourrais utiliser GIMP et cela fonctionne avec GIMP, mais MyPaint cible exclusivement le crayon, l’encre et la peinture.
+Après avoir mis tous mes raccourcis clavier dans les paramètres de la télécommande « quick keys », c'est parti. Je sélectionne ma brosse. Je clique sur le bouton dans le cadran et le mets dans le mode de la taille de la brosse. Si je tourne le cadran, le pointeur de ma brosse se rétrécit ou s’agrandit. Je fais quelques gribouillages. J’appuie sur le quick key défaire. C’est parti. Refaire et c’est revenu. Ça fonctionne parfaitement. Je peux appuyer sur le bouton du cadran, le mettre en mode opacité et rendre la brosse plus douce. Je retourne le stylet et utilise la gomme. Impeccable !

 This is an amazing tablet. So well packaged and a 10 out of 10 for quality. Two pens, lots of spare nibs, and it all comes in a nice spectacle-case style box. The tablet has a nice touch to it so it’s not all slippery and slidey, and I like the slope at the front of it where your wrist rests. The quick keys unit is nice. Has a non-slip underside. The dial is smooth to turn, and the screen displaying the labels is nice and clear. Everything can pack into the lovely pouch that comes with it. It even comes with a USB-C to USB socket converter in case you need one.

+Conclusion
+Cette tablette est époustouflante. Si bien emballée ; elle reçoit un dix sur dix pour la qualité. Deux stylets, beaucoup de pointes supplémentaires, et tout est livré dans un étui sympa du style étui à lunettes. Toucher la tablette est très agréable, car l’écran n’est pas trop glissant et j’aime la pente sur son devant où votre poignet peut se poser. La télécommande des quick keys est bien. Son dessous est anti-dérapant. Le cadran tourne avec fluidité et l’écran sur lequel sont affichées les étiquettes est net et clair. Tout se range dans la belle pochette de protection qui est livrée avec. Il y a même un convertisseur de port USB-C vers USB au cas où vous en auriez besoin.
+Honnêtement, je n’arrive pas à lui trouver un seul défaut. Le rapport qualité-prix est fantastique. C’est sans conteste une tablette que nous, les artistes digitaux sous Linux, devrions soutenir, puis qu’ils nous soutiennent avec des pilotes Linux. Bye bye la Bamboo de Wacom. C’était chouette de vous avoir connue...
