+Voici mon bureau sous Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat, édition de bureau. Il a l'air assez simple et, pourtant, attractif. J'ai mis le panneau en haut car j'utilise AWN. J'ai enlevé le panneau standard Ubuntu pour libérer de l'espace sur le bureau. L'encadré à droite est une application « Screenlets » que l'on peut télécharger directement de la Logithèque Ubuntu. J'ai eu ce fond d'écran incroyable sur http://abstract.desktopnexus.com/.

Hardware: Core 2 Duo T5550 (1.8GHz), 2GB DDR2, nVidia 8400M G (driver 260, better than standard 195 in repos), 120GB HDD.

+Voici mon BenQ Joybook R56 sous Lucid Lynx. Il est devenu mon système d'exploitation principal il y a quelques mois. Il fonctionne très, très bien. Je l'utilise beaucoup pour des travaux multimédia (audio/vidéo), des présentations à l'église, de la bureautique (Wine fait fonctionner MS Office 2007 aussi, mais je ne l'utilise que rarement) ainsi que pour jouer (notamment à Warzone et à Nexuiz). J'ai choisi Ubuntu parce que c'est la distrib. la plus populaire. J'ai choisi un logiciel gratuit, car je ne peux pas me permettre d'acheter des produits propriétaires et pour me protéger du péché (dans la Torah, il est dit que voler est un péché). J'ai bien une licence pour WinXP, mais je ne l'utilise pas beaucoup, sauf pour copier des VCD quand l'interface en ligne de commande m'irrite. +J'utilise Ubuntu Linux depuis environ trois mois et il me plaît énormément. J'ai 10.10 sur un Dell Inspiron 1520. Voici une capture d'écran de mon bureau. J'habite en Suède, mais je viens des États-Unis et j'ai donc paramétré mon Conky pour avoir la méteo en Fahrenheit, l'heure locale et l'heure partout dans le monde où j'ai de la famille et, enfin, le taux d'échange actuel entre le dollar US et la couronne suédoise. J'ai aussi configuré mon système pour pouvoir changer entre l'anglais, le japonais et le suédois.

+Salut ! Voici mon bureau sous Ubuntu 10.04. J'ai acheté mon portable en 2009 et, après, j'ai essayé d'installer Linux. Mais, puisque la plupart des gens en Chine ne connaissent que Windows, il était difficile pour moi d'apprendre l'utilisation de Linux. Heureusement, avec l'aide de l'internet et des forums, j'ai appris plein de nouvelles choses et, maintenant, avec Ubuntu, je possède un système d'exploitation qui est très utile, génial et fantastique.
