Whatever the reasoning, good, bad, or indifferent, the results are not good. In the Full Circle Podcast, episode #19, the comment was made that Ubuntu was losing its support in hopes of gaining Windows and possibly iMac users. I am sorry that a specific quote cannot be given, the ramblings of the podcast were hard to follow. Saying this, it is still an excellent tool to use. The podcast needs to be only tightened, not scrubbed - good job.

+Pour y remédier simplement, ils pourraient être proposés soit en tant que branches d'Ubuntu, soit comme des extensions ou des greffons pour ceux qui veulent de telles fonctionnalités. Les refuser devrait être facile et indolore.
+Tout le domaine du numérique est en expansion dans presque toutes les directions, presque à la vitesse du son. Une plateforme qui est fiable et solide comme le roc, telle Ubuntu 9.04, devrait servir de base à des versions futures. La magnifique idée d'un individu est l'enfer d'un autre. Ma machine à écrire IBM Selectric me manque encore. J'en cherche actuellement une pour remplacer celle que j'ai vendue.

It appears that version 11 is failing, let’s not have Ubuntu fail also because of some bad decisions by the developers on how the new features will be made available. The Windows and Mac users are starting to understand open source. It is surprising how many computers have free software such as OpenOffice as a replacement or parallel to Microsoft Office. The time has come for Linux, if Linux and Ubuntu will provide the foundation.

Il semblerait que la version 11 échoue, mais il ne faudrait pas qu'Ubuntu échoue aussi à cause de quelques mauvaises décisions prises par les développeurs au sujet de comment rendre disponibles les nouvelles fonctionnalités. Les utilisateurs Windows et Mac commencent à comprendre l'Open Source. Le nombre d'ordinateurs avec des logiciels gratuits et libres, notamment OpenOffice comme remplaçant de, ou en parallèle avec, Microsoft Office, est surprenant. L'heure de Linux est venue, si Linux et Ubuntu veulent bien en fournir les fondements.
