 Jasna Benčić: Hi to everyone. My name is Jasna and I come from Croatia. Currently I am a graduate student at Faculty of Organization and Informatics, (still working on my master’s thesis). Recently I had a chance to join: Croatian Linux Users' Association as a vice president, Muktware Linux and Free Software Magazine team as an editor/contributor, and Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter team as a summary writer/editor.
 EK: What inspired you to get involved in the Ubuntu community?

When I started I didn't have a clue what I got myself into. As time went by, I became more comfortable and I have loved Ubuntu since then. I must add that all these years I've been watching you guys on Youtube (UDS, etc..) and now I actually want to meet you and work with you.

+Jasna Bencic : Salut à tous. Je m'appelle Jasna et je viens de Croatie. Actuellement, je suis étudiante en troisième cycle à la Faculté de l'Organisation et de l'Informatique (je travaille toujours sur ma thèse de maîtrise). Récemment, j'ai eu la chance de rejoindre l'Association croate des Utilisateurs Linux en tant que vice-présidente, l'équipe de Muktware Linux et du Free Software Magazine en tant que rédactrice/contributrice, et l'équipe de la lettre hebdomadaire Ubuntu en tant qu'auteure/éditeur de résumés.
+EK : Qu'est-ce qui t'a inspirée à t'impliquer dans la communauté Ubuntu ?
+JB : En fait je ne dirais pas que c'est une inspiration. Ce qui m'a conduit vers la communauté Ubuntu est mon besoin d'avoir des expériences nouvelles et de rencontrer de nouvelles personnes. Je veux dire que je suis dans le monde d'Ubuntu depuis la 8.04. C'est toujours la version que je préfère parce que j'ai commencé avec cette distrib., mais pas comme un utilisateur ordinaire. J'ai soutenu un mémoire pour la licence intitulé « Caractéristiques du système d'exploitation Ubuntu ». Quand j'ai commencé je n'avais pas la moindre idée de ce dans quoi je m'étais lancée. Au fil du temps, je me suis sentie plus à l'aise et, depuis, j'adore Ubuntu. Je dois ajouter que pendant toutes ces années je vous ai regardé, vous autres, sur Youtube (UDS, etc.) et maintenant j'ai vraiment envie de vous rencontrer et de travailler avec vous.

 JB: Currently I am working as a summary writer/editor at Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter. Plans :) There is a saying: "Don't talk about your plans because there is a possibility you won't accomplish them."

-EK: Is there anything you feel the Ubuntu project could improve on when it comes to new folks coming to the project?
+EK : Quels sont tes rôles au sein de la communauté Ubuntu et quels sont tes projets pour l'avenir ?
+JB : Je travaille actuellement comme auteure/éditeur à Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter. Des projets :) Il y a un dicton qui dit : « Ne parlez pas de vos projets car il est possible que vous ne les accomplissiez pas. »
+Je dirais que je fais des rêves autour d'Ubuntu et de tout le reste. Est-ce que ces rêves deviendront réalité ? Cela dépend de beaucoup de facteurs, surtout de moi. Mes rêves actuels sont : travailler un jour pour Canonical, rendre l'éducation pour les élèves/étudiants beaucoup plus intéressante et amusante (du moins dans le domaine de l'informatique, puisque c'est mon métier).
+EK : As-tu rencontré des obstacles en t'impliquant et que peux-tu recommander aux nouveaux arrivants ?
+JB : Aucun obstacle vraiment. Vous avez été si accessibles et serviables. Je vous en remercie un milliard de fois.
+Je recommande aux nouveaux arrivants : si vous êtes dans le monde d'Ubuntu et vous voulez gagner plus d'expérience, n'hésitez pas à demander aux membres officiels de vous joindre. Il y a beaucoup de projets où vous impliquer. Vous ne savez jamais sur quel genre d'opportunités vous pouvez tomber.

 JB: Nothing really. Maybe I am too subjective but, ever since I started with the Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter, I’ve had a chance to read blogs of official Ubuntu members. What I mean to say is, that every Ubuntu member is working on some project/part of Ubuntu, and every now and then they are asking for volunteers – while offering to help them to get involved. What more do you need?

+EK : Est-ce que tu penses que le projet Ubuntu pourrait s'améliorer par rapport aux nouvelles personnes qui le rejoindront ?
+JB : Pas vraiment. Peut-être que je suis trop subjective, mais, depuis que j'ai commencé avec la Lettre hebdomadaire Ubuntu, j'ai eu la chance de lire les blogs de membres Ubuntu officiels. Ce que je veux dire, c'est que chaque membre Ubuntu travaille sur certains projets ou parties d'Ubuntu et, de temps en temps, ils demandent des volontaires, tout en offrant de les aider à s'impliquer. Que faut-il de plus ?
+Je me demandais même où je pourrais obtenir un mentorat officiel de Canonical... Puis je me suis dit : « Demande aux membres officiels du projet Ubuntu là où tu veux t'impliquer. »
+EK : Quels autres sujets vous intéressent en dehors de l'Open Source et d'Ubuntu ?
+JB : Liés à ma profession : l'informatique dans l'éducation, la psychologie et la méthodologie de l'éducation.
+Tout le reste est vraiment un mélange : 3D (Blender), les langues étrangères, la cuisine, les monologues comiques, l'éducation en formation continue. Pour conclure cette réponse, il y a beaucoup de choses qui m'intéressent parce que je suis de nature curieuse.
