 I even remember multiple CDs lying on the counter waiting for somebody to take them home. And I did. I think it was Feisty Fawn or Gutsy Gibbon.

 But it was knowledge that I was missing. Knowledge of what Ubuntu stood for. (And still does.)

 This was around the time that Jaunty Jackalope hit the streets. It was there, at school, that I learned much more about the OS itself, about its rich features, the way it works, and so on.

 When I look back at our town library now, I'm more than happy to see that all of the workstations, public and private, have switched to a Linux OS. Kubuntu, to be precise.

+C'est pendant que je suivais des cours du soir en vue d'obtenir une licence en informatique que j'ai à nouveau rencontré Ubuntu, mais, cette fois-ci avec beaucoup plus d'informations.
+C'est à peu près au moment où Jaunty Jackalope est paru. C'est là, à la fac, que j'ai appris bien davantage au sujet du système d'exploitation lui-même, ses très riches caractéristiques, la façon dont il fonctionne et ainsi de suite.
+Depuis cette époque, je suis un utilisateur passionné d'Ubuntu. Que ce soit la version pour ordinateur de bureau ou celle pour serveur, je l'aime et l'utilise beaucoup.
+Au travail, il y a un mélange de postes de travail sous Windows et sous Apple, mais je suis content de constater que Linux commence à s'y frayer un chemin aussi, côté serveur, mais c'est mieux que rien.

+Voilà donc l'histoire de ma rencontre avec Ubuntu. Cela fait pas mal d'années maintenant et, à la maison, la plupart du matériel tourne sous Ubuntu et fonctionne à merveille. La plupart de mes connaissances actuelles considèrent Linux comme leur arme de prédilection, quand il faut installer un nouveau système d'exploitation sur leur matériel. J'aime surtout le fait que l'âge du matériel - ancien ou nouveau - n'ait que peu d'importance. Il suffit d'y installer le système d'exploitation et de l'exécuter. (C'est un argument de taille pour convaincre des gens d'utiliser Ubuntu.)
