Welcome to the latest issue of Full Circle. Well, next month marks the tenth year of Full Circle. Absolutely incredible. I did hope to have a couple of special things lined up (interviews, etc.), but most of them have fallen though. So, it'll be business as usual, but hopefully I can find the time to squeeze in some extra articles. Oh, and I'll reveal the results of the survey from a couple of issues ago. As ever, we have Python, Inkscape, Kdenlive, Ubuntu Touch, Q&A, a new LaTeX article, and a review of Nolapro (accounting software). There's an interesting opinion piece from Alan Ward about his return to using Unity. Which I'm sure will spark mixed feelings. Personally, since Unity has matured I can now use it without any problems. Having said that, I hope that Unity 8 (whenever we may see it in general use) doesn't take us two steps back. Charles has an interesting Linux Labs piece this month that discusses the news that quite a few Linux distributions are dropping support for older 32-bit hardware. Is it a good thing? Have a read through his article and drop us an email to let us know your thoughts on it. I'm a bit on the fence with this one. It's inevitable that you have to march forward and leave the old behind, but I do think that Linux should cling on to the fact that it will run on almost anything. Having said that, I'm sure that some distro's will continue to support 32-bit to stop old hardware from sitting dormant, and gathering dust. All the best, and keep in touch! Bienvenue dans ce nouveau numéro du Full Circle
Eh bien ! Le mois prochain marque le dixième anniversaire du Full Circle. Absolument incroyable. J’espérais vraiment avoir plusieurs choses spéciales en vue (entretiens, etc.), mais la plupart d'entre elles sont tombées à l'eau. Aussi, c'est le boulot comme d'habitude, mais j'espère trouver le temps pour y inclure quelques articles supplémentaires. Ah oui ! Je révélerai les résultats du sondage d'il y a deux mois.
Comme toujours, nous avons Python, Inkscape, Kdenlive, Ubuntu Touch, Q. & R., un nouvel article sur LaTeX, et une critique de Nolapro (logiciel de comptabilité).
Il y a l'opinion intéressante d'Alan Ward sur son retour à l'utilisation d'Unity. Ce qui, je suis sûr, fera éclater des sentiments mêlés. Personnellement, depuis qu'Unity a mûri, je peux l'utiliser sans aucun problème. Tout en disant cela, j'espère qu'Unity 8 (si nous le voyons un jour en usage général) ne nous ramènera pas deux pas en arrière.
Ce mois-ci, il y a un article intéressant de Charles dans la rubrique Labo Linux ; il présente l'information sur la suppression du matériel 32-bit dans quelques distributions Linux. Est-ce une bonne chose ? Lisez l'article et envoyez-nous un mail pour nous faire part de vos réactions. Je suis encore hésitant sur ce sujet. C'est inévitable que nous allions de l'avant et que nous laissions les vieilleries derrière nous, mais je pense vraiment que Linux devrait s'accrocher au fait qu'il tourne à peu près sur n'importe quoi. Cela étant dit, je suis sûr que certaines distribs continueront à supporter le matériel 32-bit pour lui éviter de rester inutilisé, à prendre la poussière dans un coin.
