Titre : Leaders Profile: Silvia and Flavia In the summer of 2012, the Ubuntu Women project grew from a leadership trio to a leadership quartet with the election of Silvia Bindelli and Flavia Weisghizzi to the team. We took some time to talk with Silvia and Flavia about their experience in Ubuntu and Ubuntu Women, and to learn some of their goals for the Ubuntu Women project moving forward.

À l'été 2012, le projet Femmes d'Ubuntu est passé d'un trio de dirigeantes à un quatuor avec l'élection de Silvia Bindelli et Flavia Weisghizzi dans l'équipe.
Nous avons pris le temps de discuter avec Silvia et Flavia de leur expérience dans Ubuntu et Femmes d'Ubuntu et avons appris certains de leurs objectifs pour faire avancer le projet Femmes d'Ubuntu.
Silvia Bindelli I joined the Ubuntu Women project in 2007, but, for several months, I was mainly a passive member. My activity started to be more concrete in 2010, when I joined the Italian LoCo team and, at the same time, Flavia and I created a local section of Ubuntu Women. Since then I've met wonderful people, both in the Italian LoCo team and in the international community, all willing to help, to share, and completely enthusiastic about Ubuntu and their contributions. This is why I always try to get myself a bit more involved in the community, and to contribute sharing my enthusiasm and helping others as much as I can.

J'ai rejoint le projet Femmes d'Ubuntu en 2007, mais, pendant plusieurs mois, j'étais surtout un membre passif. Mon activité a commencé à être plus concrète en 2010, lorsque j'ai rejoint l'équipe LoCo italienne et, en même temps, Flavia et moi avons créé une section locale de Femmes d'Ubuntu. Depuis, j'ai rencontré des gens merveilleux, à la fois dans l'équipe LoCo italienne et dans la communauté internationale, tous prêts à aider, à partager, et complètement enthousiastes à propos d'Ubuntu et de leurs contributions. C'est pourquoi j'essaie de m'impliquer toujours un peu plus dans la communauté et de contribuer en partageant mon enthousiasme et en aidant les autres autant que je le peux.
Silvia’s Goals: Publicity: Try to enhance further the visibility of the project on the web, and try to promote a good and welcoming image for it. For instance, we could give more vitality to the website via a news section and increasing the number of pages linking to it. Loco Activity: Encourage initiatives like the Italian Ubuntu Women group: having more or less explicit groups in the LoCo team who take care of involving more women in the Ubuntu community. One activity that proved to be much appreciated is holding sessions on IRC showing briefly each specific activity of the LoCo team: this kind of tutoring, done in the mother language of the audience, encourages even those who are a bit more shy to start contributing actively. For example, we could also do sessions on IRC sharing our experience in UbuntuWomen-it.
Les objectifs de Silvia :
Publicité : essayer d'améliorer encore la visibilité du projet sur le web et essayer de promouvoir une bonne image accueillante pour ce projet. Par exemple, on pourrait donner plus de vitalité au site avec une section d'actualités, en augmentant le nombre de pages qui y font référence.
Activité Loco : encourager les initiatives telles que le groupe italien Femmes d'Ubuntu : avoir, dans l'équipe LoCo, des groupes plus ou moins explicites qui ont pour mission d'impliquer davantage les femmes dans la communauté Ubuntu. Une activité qui s'est avérée être très appréciée est l'organisation de séances sur IRC montrant brièvement chaque activité spécifique de l'équipe LoCo : ce type de tutorat, fait dans la langue maternelle du public, encourage même ceux qui sont un peu plus timides pour commencer à contribuer activement. Par exemple, on pourrait aussi faire des séances sur IRC pour partager notre expérience dans UbuntuWomen-it.
Flavia Weisghizzi The first post I wrote on Ubuntu-it forum, away back in 2007, was, more or less: “Hi, I'm Flavia, I'm a 30 years old journalist.” The reply was “Wow, an alien has landed in this forum!” I felt very different from the geek-addicted teenagers who were used to hanging out at that forum. So I asked what could I do for the Ubuntu-it community and where could I meet some other women involved in it. Anyway, as time went by, I participated in our community, serving with my communication skills and in translation and marketing.

Le premier message que j'ai écrit sur le forum Ubuntu-it - c'était en 2007 - était à peu près : « Salut, je suis Flavia, je suis une journaliste de 30 ans. » La réponse a été : « Ouah, une extra-terrestre a atterri dans ce forum ! »
Je me sentais très différente des adolescents complètement « geek » qui étaient habitués à traîner sur le forum. J'ai donc demandé ce que je pouvais faire pour la communauté Ubuntu-it et où je pourrais rencontrer d'autres femmes qui s'y impliquaient. Quoi qu'il en soit, le temps passant, j'ai participé à notre communauté, en utilisant mes compétences en communication, en traduction et en publicité.
At the same time, I was taking a look at different female experiences, like Linux Chix, and, finally, I was introduced to the inspiring Ubuntu Women list and Silvia, and together we gave life to a branch dedicated to Italian-speaking women. My work gave me the opportunity to become an Ubuntu member and to be elected as former member of the Italian LoCo team, but I know there's much more I can do.
En même temps, je regardais différentes expériences féminines, comme Linux Chix, et finalement j'ai été présentée à la stimulante liste Femmes d'Ubuntu et à Silvia, et ensemble nous avons donné vie à une branche dédiée aux femmes italophones.
Mon travail m'a donné l'occasion de devenir membre d'Ubuntu et d'être élue comme ancienne membre de l'équipe italienne LoCo, mais je sais que je peux faire encore bien plus.
Flavia’s Goals: Publicity. As a journalist, I well know the importance of taking trace and release activities and initiatives. So I'd like to strengthen the UW communication tools, toward inner and outer community targets. Mentoring: I'd like to offer my experience as a speaker to help people in developing a better communication strategy for talks and conferences.
Les objectifs de Flavia :
Publicité : en tant que journaliste, je connais l'importance de laisser des traces et d'avoir des activités et des initiatives. J'aimerais donc renforcer les outils de communication de Femmes d'Ubuntu, tournés vers des objectifs communautaires internes et externes.
Le mentorat : je tiens à proposer mon expérience de conférencière pour aider les gens à développer une meilleure stratégie de communication pour les entretiens et les conférences.

sudo install yt2mp3.sh /usr/local/bin (pour l'installer la première fois)
Pour l'utiliser, saisir :
yt2mp3.sh “url_de_la_liste_de_lecture/url_de_la_video”
Points to be noted: • Please install youtube-dl, ffmpeg and livavcodec-extra. • Execute the script from a new directory meant for the MP3's of that playlist/video. Hope it's useful! Tested for Linux Mint, but should work with all Linux systems.
Points à noter : • installez youtube-dl, ffmpeg et livavcodec-extra. • Exécutez le script à partir d'un nouveau répertoire destiné aux fichiers MP3 de la liste de lecture ou vidéo.
