Titre : CMUS Music Player
I've been using Ubuntu for a few years and, thanks in part to Lucas' column Command and Conquer, I've become a fan of the command line. A couple of months ago, I decided to try to find a good console-based music program. Rhythmbox comes installed on Ubuntu 12.04 and it is a fine program. It reminds me a lot of iTunes, unfortunately I really don't like iTunes. It just feels so big and bloated. I don't really care about seeing the album covers of my music collection. I wanted something that is small, fast, and yet still easy to use. This is for playing music after all, it should be enjoyable, not a chore.
J'utilise Ubuntu depuis quelques années et, en partie grâce à la rubrique Command & Conquer de Lucas, je suis devenu un fan de la ligne de commande.
Il y a deux ou trois mois, j'ai décidé d'essayer de trouver un bon programme musical basé sur la console. Rhythmbox est installé sous Ubuntu 12.04 et c'est un beau programme. Il me rappelle beaucoup iTunes, mais, malheureusement, je n'aime vraiment pas iTunes. Je le trouve tellement grand et gonflé. Je ne me soucie pas vraiment de voir les pochettes de ma collection de musique. Je voulais quelque chose qui soit petit, rapide et pourtant facile à utiliser. C'est pour jouer de la musique après tout et cela doit être agréable, pas une corvée.
A Google search took me to a post somewhere about cmus. It sounded like just what I was looking for. I checked the Ubuntu repository and there it was, cmus version 2.4.3, as well as the cmus ffmpeg-plugin 2.4.3. “That was easy!” I thought as the program installed. After I installed the program, I had to add music to the library. This is easy enough. Simply type a for add and then specify the path to your music collection. Cmus will then scan the target directory and add everything in that directory. As you can see from the screenshot, it picks up the artist, album and track names, the year the song was recorded/produced, and the length of the song.
Une recherche sur Google m'a emmené vers un message quelque part relatif à cmus. Cela ressemblait exactement à ce que je cherchais. J'ai vérifié les dépôts Ubuntu et il était là, cmus la version 2.4.3, ainsi que le cmus ffmpeg-plugin 2.4.3. « C'est facile ! » pensais-je lors de l'installation du programme.
Après avoir installé le programme, j'ai dû ajouter de la musique à la bibliothèque. C'est assez facile. Il suffit de taper a, pour ajouter, et puis de spécifier le chemin de votre collection de musique. Cmus va ensuite parcourir le répertoire cible et ajouter tout dans ce répertoire. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur la capture d'écran, il capte les noms de l'artiste, de l'album et de la piste, l'année de l'enregistrement et de la production de la chanson et la durée de la chanson.
You can use the arrow keys to scroll through the list of artists. If you hit the space-bar, an artist's entry will expand to show a list of albums by that artist. When you highlight an album, the tracks on that album appear in the main window. Pressing the tab key will move you over to the main window where you can scroll through the list of tracks. Pressing enter will start a track.
Vous pouvez utiliser les flèches pour faire défiler la liste des artistes. Si vous appuyez sur la barre d'espace, l'entrée d'un artiste sera élargie pour afficher une liste des albums de cet artiste. Lorsque vous sélectionnez un album, les pistes de cet album apparaissent dans la fenêtre principale. Appuyer sur la touche de tabulation vous déplace vers la fenêtre principale où vous pouvez faire défiler la liste des pistes. Appuyez sur Entrée pour lancer une piste.
Pressing c will pause a track. Pressing q will give you the option of quitting cmus by pressing y or n. Pressing p will add a track to the playlist while e adds a track to the queue. I usually just select an album and press enter to start the first song. The rest of the songs on the album are played in sequence.
Appuyer sur c met la lecture d'une piste en pause. Appuyer sur q vous donnera la possibilité de quitter cmus en appuyant sur y ou n. Appuyez sur p va ajouter une piste à la playlist tandis que e ajoute une piste à la file d'attente. Je choisis généralement un album et appuie sur Entrée pour lancer la première chanson. Les autres chansons de l'album sont lues dans l'ordre.
Typing / will allow you to search for an artist, album or song. The [ ] keys increase the volume and the { } keys decrease the volume. Typing cmus –plugins in the terminal will bring up a list of all the different types of files cmus should be able to play. The list is quite long and the most common formats are on the list (.aac, .mp3, flac, wma). I said should, because, even though ffmpeg is shown in my list of plugins and below ffmpeg .wma is written as a supported format, I cannot play the few Windows Media Audio files I have in cmus. A Google search did reveal that a bug report has been filed about this problem.
Taper / vous permettra de rechercher un artiste, un album ou une chanson. Les touches [] augmentent le volume et les touches {} le diminuent. Taper cmus-plugins dans le terminal fera apparaître une liste de tous les différents types de fichiers que cmus devrait pouvoir lire. La liste est assez longue et les formats les plus courants sont dans la liste (.aac,.mp3, .flac, .wma). J'ai dit « devrait », car, même si ffmpeg est montré dans ma liste des plugins et, en dessous de ffmpeg, .wma est écrit comme un format pris en charge, je ne peux pas jouer les quelques fichiers Windows Media Audio que j'ai dans cmus. Une recherche sur Google me révèle qu'un rapport de bug a été déposé au sujet de ce problème.
I usually use the default view that appears when the program launches. The number keys one through seven will cycle through different views. One takes you to the default layout. Two brings up a listing of every song in your library. Three and four open the playlist and queue views respectively, while five opens the file browser. Pressing the number six shows a list of library filters, and pressing seven shows all of the settings and keybindings for cmus.
J'utilise habituellement la vue par défaut qui apparaît lorsque le programme est lancé. Les touches numérotées de un à sept proposent, en cycle, différents points de vue. 1 vous emmène à la disposition par défaut. 2 propose la liste de toutes les chansons de votre bibliothèque.
3 et 4 ouvrent respectivement la playlist et la vue sur la file d'attente, tandis que 5 ouvre le navigateur de fichiers. Appuyer sur le numéro 6 affiche une liste des filtres de la bibliothèque et, en appuyant sur 7, tous les réglages et raccourcis clavier pour cmus sont affichés.
All in all, I am very happy with the program. It does what I want, is quick, lightweight, and was simple to set up.
Dans l'ensemble, je suis très heureux avec le programme. Il fait ce que je veux, c'est rapide, léger, et a été simple à mettre en place.
