I use Bumblebee to use the GeForce GT 555M card. Steam and other games are playing very well with Bumblebee.
My Desktop: Operating System: Ubuntu 13.04, Desktop Environment: Unity, Theme: Ambiance (Modified) Wallpaper: The background is a photo I took of a red eyed insect with 'golden' striations outside my house (in Bangalore, India). Icon Set: Ubuntu Mono Dark. I have reduced Panel Opacity to 0 using Ubuntu Tweak. I like the minimalistic look for my Desktop, all the 'Desktop Icons' are placed in a file with the same name (reduces clutter). Please note that I have changed the font (using Ubuntu Tweak) to “Liberation Serif Bold”, size 12. This bold, big, etched font makes it so easy to read even when I am relaxing by reclining far back on the computer chair. Hardware: Graphics: Intel, Processor: Intel Dual Core 2.66 CPU Ghz, 2 GB RAM and 160 GB memory.

J'utilise Bumblebee pour la carte GeForce GT 555M. Steam et d'autres jeux fonctionnent très bien avec Bumblebee. Mon bureau : Système d'exploitation : Ubuntu 13.04 Desktop. Environnement : Unity. Thème : Ambiance (modifié) Fond d'écran : Le fond est une photo que j'ai prise d'un insecte aux yeux rouges avec des stries « dorées » à l'extérieur de ma maison (à Bangalore, Inde). Thème d'icônes : Ubuntu Mono Dark. J'ai réduit l'opacité à 0 en utilisant Ubuntu Tweak. J'aime le look minimaliste pour mon bureau, toutes les « icônes de bureau » sont dans un fichier avec le même nom (réduit l'encombrement). S'il vous plaît notez que j'ai remplacé la police (en utilisant Ubuntu Tweak) par « Liberation Serif Regular », taille 12. Cette police est grande et en gras, ce qui la rend très facile à lire même quand je me détends en inclinant ma chaise d'ordinateur loin vers l'arrière. Matériel : Carte graphique : Intel. I use Xubuntu 12.04 but I'm not a fan of putting any icons on my desktop so it's one of the first things I remove from it whenever I set up a machine for myself. The theme is the default Xubuntu Greybird theme featuring a modified Nucleus (a minimalist conky by ~LovelyBacon) and Mr. Tau, and the Tree by TJ (from the Saucy Salamander package). Hardware: IBM T40p Thinkpad. Specs: CPU: Intel Pentium M @ 1.6 GHz, RAM: 1024 MB + 512 MB, Hard Drive: 40 GB It's definitely low-powered hardware – and quite an old model at that – but I'm trying to say here that *ubuntu can make such old hardware useful, responsive, and even modern-looking again.

Le thème est Xubuntu Greybird par défaut avec un noyau modifié (un conky minimaliste par ~LovelyBacon) et Mr. Tau, et l'arbre de TJ (du paquet Saucy Salamandre). Matériel : IBM Thinkpad T40p. Caractéristiques : Processeur : Intel Pentium M @ 1,6 GHz, RAM : 1024 Mo + 512 Mo, Disque dur : 40 Go C'est vraiment un matériel de faible puissance - c'est un vieux modèle - mais ce que j'essaie de dire ici c'est qu'Ubuntu peut rendre utile et réactif, et donner même une allure moderne à du vieux matériel.
