 In a fit of insanity, I went to Harvey Normans here in Christchurch, only because he had a huge clearance sale. Typical for Harvey Norman, I ended up buying a printer at the bargain discounted price that every other retailer would have charged anyway. But, I didn’t say I was a genius!

+Ayant été détaché en Nouvelle-Zélande à partir de Melbourne, en Australie, toutes mes affaires étaient stockées à Melbourne. Je devais imprimer quelques formulaires et non seulement le déplacement à la bibliothèque m'était désagréable, mais, après un mois, j'aurais payé l'équivalent du prix d'achat d'une nouvelle imprimante !

 Maybe it’s time we put together a new list of incompatible hardware (routers, printers, scanners, cameras, etc), and sent copies to those manufacturers. We have enough market share now to start pressuring some of these manufacturers. No business can afford to reject 20% of the market.

+Toutefois, il reste encore quelques obstacles :
+• Les vieilles idées de Linux comme étant en ligne de commande plutôt qu'en icônes et graphismes persistent.
+• Quelques personnes voient en Linux un outil des pirates et du côté obscur du Web.
+• La fonctionnalité du navigateur. Firefox est rejeté par beaucoup de jeux en ligne à cause de son lecteur Flash périmé. Chromium est dans la même catégorie.
+• Certains matériels ne communiquent pas avec Linux, cependant, ils sont maintenant minoritaires.
+Le moment est venu sans doute de créer une nouvelle liste de matériels incompatibles (routeurs, imprimantes, scanners, caméras, etc.), et d'en envoyer un exemplaire aux fabricants concernés. Notre part de marché est actuellement assez grande pour mettre la pression sur certains de ces fabricants. Aucune entreprise ne peut se permettre de rejeter 20 % du marché.
+Le magazine Full Circle serait un point de ralliement parfait pour collecter des commentaires et, peut-être, gérer des pétitions pour faire avancer ces changements. Dès à présent, Linux peut devenir le système d'exploitation dominant.
